The biggest challenge was to understand the brief which included the requirement for managing gas that could be raised from the old rubbish site that laid beneath the modules. Each of the 9 modules had to be sealed so that gas migration was not possible, floor penetrations were to be minimised with the only permissible penetrations were the shower base floor wastes. These had to be shown that they would not allow gas to migrate around the waste trap. The project was delayed for a period of time due to design works around the historical use of the land, however the team led by JMAC were successful in providing a best practice facility where the lease holders believe they have club house facilities that will compete with any other in Australia.
